Your copy is great. But it could be better!
You read books half a dozen a month. Does that warrant if you’ll be a good copy critic?
Yes, if you most of what you read IS copy. But if you don’t, your critique might not a valid one.
Kill your doubts by reading more copy.
Copy consists of
- Emails
- Ads
- Websites
- Flyers
- Blogs
that are creative enough to rob your attention.
Play on words is a great place to get started. Think of jokes, stories & let your creativity spread faster than ink on water.
Don’t edit while you’re writing.
It’s like rejecting yourself before you even finish. That’s how I’ve lost some ideas into the copywell forever.
Keep those mistakes in. Put that critic in you on pause. Edit when you’re really done.
Better is just being average an uncomfortable number of times.
